Winkel Tripel Projection
"The arithmetic mean of equirectangular and Aitoff projections, minimizing three distortion metrics"
Tripel ('triple') refers to Winkel's objective to simultaneously minimize three distortions: area, direction, and distance. Adopted by National Geographic in 1998 to replace Robinson.
